Mark E. Jones, Ph.D., currently Executive External Strategy and Communications Fellow for Dow Chemical., is a frequent speaker at industry events on a variety of industry related topics. He continues to provide technical support for Dow’s Renewable Chemistries Expertise Center and is on the Board of Directors of the BIO Industrial and Environmental Section (IES). Mark is a frequent contributor to both American Chemistry Council and World Economic Forum teams focused on renewable and sustainable chemistry.
He hosts monthly American Chemical Society (ACS) webinars on successful industrial applications of chemistry and material science, blogs monthly for the ACS’s Industry Insights, represents Dow Chemical on the American Chemical Society Corporation Associates, and is on the ACS Chemical Heritage Landmark committee.
Mark contributed extensively to the White House’s Advanced Manufacturing Partnership, looking both at technology options and improving scale-up of new technologies. He played a large role in Dow’s next generation sustainability goals and retains responsibility for the innovation goal. He is currently a member of a National Academies National Research Council team reviewing the ARPAe program and is a co-author on the National Research Council report “Sustainable Development of Algal Biofuels in the United States.”
