Biaxially orientable polyethylene resin XUS 59910.08 (TF-BOPE) is a newly developed bimodal polyethylene product that enables the production of stiff, tough and clear biaxially oriented polyethylene (BOPE) films on a commercial scale tenter frame line. The product also enables down-gauging and recyclability of packaging materials for improved resource efficiency and circularity of packaging. The resulting biaxially oriented films have greater mechanical properties, higher material rigidity, and better optical and printing performance as compared to traditional polyethylene cast or blown films. The greatly enhanced performance of the BOPE films have allowed the packaging industry to substantially down-gauge their packaging materials and thus reduce their carbon footprint. In addition, thanks to the excellent stiffness and toughness of the BOPE film, other polymer materials such as polypropylene (PP), Nylon (PA) or PET (either metallized or non-metallized) can be replaced by BOPE in lamination film structures. The resulting all-PE structure lamination film bags can be easily recycled through existing PE film recycle streams such as grocery store drop-off programs in the United States and Canada.
