Battelle DroneDefender counter-UAS system, utilizing a non-kinetic solution, defends airspace against unmanned aircraft systems, such as quadcopters and hexacopters, without compromising safety or risking collateral damage. This innovative system provides instantaneous disruption of unwanted UAS using two different defenses. Multifrequency disruption blocks remote control communication and neutralizes drones while satellite navigation disruption disables use of automated navigation. The system consists of custom RF electronics to generate the disruptive sources that are then radiated forward by the directional antennas on the end of the rifle. When a drone loses its communication link, the aircraft enters into a preprogrammed safety routine. Typically, the drone will return to its point of origin where it will safely land (VTOL aircraft only).
