Smart Smoke Alarm

The Smart Smoke Alarm is a new residential smoke alarm that alarms faster and more reliably than existing alarms. It uses sensors developed by smoke-alarm manufacturers (ionization aerosol, photoelectric aerosol, carbon monoxide and temperature) and combines their responses in a synergistic fashion with embedded firmware. As a result, the Smart Smoke Alarm alarms more quickly to actual fires and keeps quiet during nonthreatening situations that trigger conventional smoke alarms (e.g., cooking and showering). The Smart Smoke Alarm also incorporates an inexpensive speaker and circuit to produce a more effective alarming sound (520 Hz).
